![]() The large sail on its back serves a thermoregulatory function, as it cools the animal on hot days and helps keep it warm on cold ones. However, the Dimetrodon is extremely slow and provoking it does not pose much of a threat, as it is easy to outrun or kill.Ī sail-backed quadruped found exclusively in the island's swamps, Dimetrodon is reptilian in appearance but in truth is more closely related to mammals. Usually attacking Coelacanth or Megapiranha, the Dimetrodon is not much of a threat for most creatures, unless it is provoked. Just being near Dimetrodon gives excellent protection from both heat and cold, which has saved my life through more than one ice blizzard in the frozen northlands. ![]() However, its main use to survivors is to utilize the sail's insulating capabilities. If Dimetrodon was a bit larger, or didn't have that massive sail, it would make a decent mount. Together, these two traits allow Dimetrodon to comfortably survive in any climate, though they are most commonly found in the swamplands which are rich in prey. The inner workings of the sail can also restrict blood flow in the creature to hold in excessive heat. It can be angled to provide shade from the sun and allows Dimetrodon to disperse heat more quickly. The sail on Dimetrodon's back is an especially fascinating thing. Not all of us use "kibble" nor do we wish to simply chalk it up as loss and spend another 4-10hrs taming a high level dino.ĭebug code that replaces 'all dino's not "killed" with a kill message - but yet no longer existing needs to be implimented.Īnd yes this early access - data loss is expected but so is acknolwedgement of any major issues and a response as to how the issue is being mitigated by the team.Dimetrodon calorector is a much calmer predator than most on the Island.īecause it lives off smaller prey than humans, it generally ignores anything much larger than a Coelacanth.ĭimetrodon is one of the few carnivores on the Island that could be classified as reasonably friendly in the wild. (If you haven't experiencing the problem, posting "i never experienced this" is absolutely useless. Nothing kills a game faster than 'broken economy' and 'data loss' that cannot be replaced, nor explained, and yet widescale in its occurence. This problem, if it persist into the release - will quickly cause people to quit and the numbers of those who quit will increase exponentially. ![]() One of the two argents magically reappeard on the roof of a base i never used with it. I had L163 and a L160 Raptor *disappear* within minutes of each other. It is really upsetting to lose such a high level pet to a bug. All of the fish are on neutral and they were all in there same places so I know nothing attacked the pen unless it was an Argantavis, which I have never seen over the ocean. I and one other tribe mate are the only ones who dare to go out into the depths. They are all afraid to go out into the ocean. I interrogated my tribemates to find out if one of them had taken him out and he had died. I searched the ocean for over two hours pressing T (follow all) trying to find him. All of the other mega's and itchy's were there in the pen exactly where they had been but he was gone. I went to the pen to get him to do an oil and pearl run and he was gone. We lost our highest level megladon, Jaws without any death notice or reason or anything. I've been here since the beginning and I've stuck through everything, I get that this is early access, but this is really getting aggravating. I was almost back to where I was with dinos and then this happened again. Unless there is a bug I don't know about, dinos shouldn't be chasing players on PvE if they are set on passive (like they still do when they are on neutral or aggressive). Again this is a PVE server, so players couldn't kill them either. ![]() I live in the southeast on the edge of the swamp by the green ob, so no wild flying dinos that could be killing them. There is no way any of them could have walked away, and they're all always on passive. This is PVE Server 325 but I know it's happening elsewhere too.ĭinos that disappeared the first time were an argent, a trike, two raptors, three dodos.ĭinos that disappeared the second time were a ptera, a stego, two raptors, and two pachys.Įach time my dilos haven't disappeared along with the rest.Īll of my dinos are in a wooden fence that needs no repairs and has no missing pieces. ![]() This is the second time this has happened to me! When I log on, my dinosaurs (except the dilos, just like last time) are magically gone with no death messages. ![]()
